Fathers Day Shenanigans
I think it was the night before Fathers Day we had a full moon. I am determined to capture a full moon correctly and just haven't mastered it yet... my shadows are always funky... Sunday was a pretty chill day. Father's Day is tricky and a little complex for our family. Lambert's dad passed a few years ago so it's a day that we remember him and it just feels off without him being here. My dad lives in another state so he's not here to celebrate and my stepdad also lives out of town so most years its just our crew. Lambert is an amazing Dad and husband and I love honoring him! We had a great breakfast and made it to our Sunday school class. We heard the most amazing testimony from one of our members in our group. I think her testimony is movie worthy and I would totally steal it from her if I thought I could get away with it and make a fortune! J-Lo would totally play her character. After our class we talked for a good hour and missed Big Church all together. (we call the church service "Big Church", always have). I was reminded how self focused and sheltered I am. I can get so caught up in my own stuff that I miss out on getting to know people or getting to know people deeper. Honestly, I am an introvert and not really that social. I love my nest and being home with my own peeps. I'm working on building relationships and not bailing out when I feel a little uncomfortable. I wish I was a better friend, so thats something at least I recognize. Hoot grilled a fabulous steak and chicken dinner and Libbie and I tossed a salad and threw asparagas on the grill. We're steadily working in the backyard and hope that it will be party ready for Libbie's baptism party this weekend. I love our little fixer upper and love spending time working in the yard. I thought it was so funny that Lambert wanted a posed picture of him with the kiddos... that lasted about 2 seconds before the real life shots happened. The three of them can't be on a raft without someone being tackled. You can probably gues who the instigator is... it rhymes with Schibbie....
