Summer

I feel like I blinked and our summer is half way over. We have packed so much in and still have more to come, but I feel its fleeting!  I popped into Target this week and put my blinders on just incase they had school supplies out already. I don't want to know so don't tell me.  We've had lazy summer days and days at the beach.  Toy Story 4 made me cry just like all the rest. We've celebrated birthdays and baptisims and an anniversary is on the horizon. We've taken slow boat rides to dinner with friends and drank a very special wine that isn't even out on the market yet.  There have been late nights by the pool talking about family and growing up, ambitions and regrets to the wee hours of the morning.  I'm determined to make a home made batch of cinnamon rolls but thus far I'm thankful for Pilsbury... Libbie and I painted our first watercolors (thank you Youtube)  We overhauled our backyard and already have plans for future improvements.  Libbie started reading The Secret Garden today. I can't wait for her to complete it so we can watch the movie together.  My mom gave me the VERY BEST seasoning EVER from Trader Joes and I have used it on everything. A friend shared his bounty from his garden and this seasoning is perfect for fresh veggies.  We have a trip to our Austin cottage (rental) on the calendar and next week and the kids are heading to Nanas Resort to spend time with their cousins. I'm taking them to Indiana to wrap up the summer and I'm looking forward to all things Midwest and seeing the grandparents. My grandfather is not in great health so this will be a sweet visit.  I guess I'll start thinking about school uniforms and supplies and get moving in that direction. It sure seems like this summer is moving fast!
